Child Find - A Special Education Program of the Manchester School District
Child Find is a federally supported process of identifying all persons from birth to age 21 who may have an educational disability. Please contact Child Find at (603)628-6257. The Child Find team finds, identifies and evaluates children who are suspected of being in need of special education or related services. The Child Find team consists of:

Occupational Therapist
Physical Therapist
School Psychologist
School Nurse
Special Education Teacher
Speech Pathologist
Teacher of the Hearing Impaired
Teacher of the Vision Impaired

If you suspect your child may not be developing skills at age appropriate times, please contact us for more information and/or to schedule a developmental screening. Early intervention may make a difference between a successful school experience and a frustrating school experience.
Can your child?
At One Year:
Wave bye-bye appropriately
Pick up and feed self crackers
Follow simple directions ("Stand up", "Come here")
Turn when you call his/her name
Move about a space by crawling or walking
At Two Years:
Follow simple verbal directions ("Put the ball on the chair")
Speak in simple sentences ("More juice")
Demonstrate understanding by pointing to the appropriate picture or object when asked. ("Show me the...")
Feed self with spoon and drink from a cup (may spill some)
At Three Years:
Engage in solitary play for up to 20 minutes (blocks, books, dolls)
Use sentences consisting of 3 - 4 words
Be understood by people outside the family
Follow 2 3 step directions in the correct order ("Go to your room and bring me your shoes")
String large beads
Jump from steps without losing balance
At Four Years:
Have his/her needs met by using words
Speak in sentences using 4 - 5 words
Dress self including fasteners
Jump and hop on one foot
Draw recognizable pictures
Point to 8 colors
At Five Years:
Name 8 colors
Count 1 - 10
Make the following sounds: p, b, m, h, t, d, k, g, f, v
Answer when and why questions
Hop, skip, and jump with ease
Choose own clothes and dress self for the day
